Current news

Goodbye David.
Seeing as I don't exactly have a Twitter, like the rest of the world, I though I'd use Just Like Ed to express this following.

I just finished watching the second part of "The End of Time" and all I can manage to write right now would be:

Thank you, David. It's been a privilege. Allons-y!

Update: Turns out that David Tennant leaving is well worth creating a Twitter account.

Follow me, if you will. I might say something clever... no really.

Twitter: @justlikeed.

2009, didn't we have a blast?
Now, I am usually not one to get all sentimental about the end of the year, or the inevitable new year that follows but, I'd figure I should put up something this time.

While there's basically no difference between December 31 in 2009 and January 1 in 2010, somehow people think that everything changes at the stroke of midnight. There seems to be a tendency of making "drastic life changes" with the arrival of the new year.

I originally didn't plan on it but, it seems that the 'next' stage in my life happens to coincide with the start of 2010. A mere coincidence, really. Initially this was all planned for August of 2009 but, things happened and I had to push all plans by about half a year.

These plans also involve a shiny new look and feel for Just Like Ed, so don't be alarmed when you are suddenly confronted with something that looks much better. It won't happen overnight, but I plan on releasing a new Just Like Ed, somewhere in January 2010.

While the new Just Like Ed will have a somewhat other focus, I'll make sure that no content is lost. All Flash games, quotes and so on will remain on the site. They'll just be presented to you in a much nicer design.

That was all I guess. I'll see you in the new year (as they say). Have a good one.

Boxxle Online: And so it returns
Boxxle Online, an online version of the classic puzzle games "Boxxle" and "Boxxle II" for the Nintendo Gameboy. You may know it as Sokoban, this is the original Japanese name.

My good friends over at the Boxxle.NETwork love Boxxle and so do I. Together we've recreated Boxxle and Boxxle II in an all new online game, free for anyone to play and enjoy!

If you love puzzle games, Boxxle Online is something you really need to take a look at. Visit it at Boxxle.net/online!

It may be...
What am I doing at the moment? Watching TV... at lot. Busy with school (slightly less) and of course working my ass off, to make some good green bills. I'm tempted to mention "even less" with work, but no, I work at lot. I work to the extend that my personal life is on some sort of "hold".

This of course means that my Flash work, unfortunately, also has to be put in the queue. But not to in extreme. Seeing as I believe in my Flash projects, I tend to give them some priority over other work.

Now I can't give you an exact release date, or anything in that direction because, my official "work" prohibits me from working as much as I want on my personal Flash projects. So, I'll have to give you a rain check.

Stay jiggly with it. I'll be back. And it'll be awesome.

Why I don't update (Part II)
Twelve days have gloriously past us by as I struggle to make the self set deadline. Lovely.

Due to the fact that I have a second deadline (a slightly more important deadline) I haven't been able to do much.

It's important that I deliver the first release candidate of an application that I'm building for a client at work. Which obviously gets first priority.

Nevertheless I will not let it crush my spirit. I promise dearly that before this month is over a new Flash game will be released.

I'm working on two games simultaneously. One action/adventure and a puzzle game. I think I will finish the latter first and continue with the former after that. To even out my workload.

So, once again. Stay tuned!

Happy New Year!
Let's hope it's a good one.

Why I don't update (Part I)
The reason that Just Like Ed lacks regular updates (and that's an understatement) is the occupancy of every day life.

School, work, and especially the combination has the ability to keep me occupied from sun rise to sun set. Unfortunately this leave very little time left for a personal life, let alone personal projects.

Up next: Christmas and it's many, merry, days without work and school. Up to the 7th next year, which is the day on which school resumes.

What I plan do do in these two short weeks? Don't know for sure. But be sure to check back afterwards.

Once you go Adobe
A black van with gold UPS lettering drove up to our door. *Ding dong* said the doorbell. A package! What could it be? The label on the package could only mean one thing.

Inside the mysterious Adobe-labeled package was the box that gave away the ending. And inside that box was another box. And inside that second box was a bunch of stuff. Well, I can't think of an exaggerated expression of my liking of the content. Creative Suite 3 Web Standard was in the box!

Wait Standard? That's right. Premium includes Photoshop and Illustrator, which I never use. Standard was € 100,00 cheaper and contained the things that I care about: Flash, Dreamweaver and all the Macromedia titles. Thus is was a logical choice.

I've installed and snooped around the new gear but, haven't really gotten around to give 'em a good feel. So I'll be doing that this weekend (or so.)

This absolutely nonsense news was brought to you by.....
