Safe Text is a similar service to Safe Mail. Where Safe Mail only converts your email address into an image, Safe Text can convert any form of text! This way you can easily mask delicate pieces of text to they can't be read by bots who scan websites for text or simply present text in the form of an image because you feel like it. The idea behind Safe Text is the same as Safe Mail. A simple way to mask information from the big bad world. I have to admit that Safe Text is a little more of a toy than Safe Mail. Safe Text doesn't require the input to be an email address or any other sort of preset format. Safe Text can handle any text you enter. So instead of just converting your email address, you could include your post address or phone number. You wouldn't want your phone number to appear in some strange database because it was found when a bot scanned your page. Image that Google indexes a web page with your phone number on it. It would be kept in Google's database for ever, for everyone to see. With your email address, it's bad enough that you get spam but, what happens if your phone number or personal address gets displayed for all to see? Safe Text lets you customize the look of the text image. You can select your own font, text- and background color. The background color is specified to match the anti-alias text to the background. Otherwise you would be left with a nasty white pixel border around the text. The color doesn't have to be exact, the text image is a transparent PNG set to the background color of the image. If you're off a little, or even if you have a background texture, it's no big deal to use a background color that looks somewhat similar. People won't notice a thing. You may notice that the Safe Text has a couple of advertisements on it. This is not so that I can make a profit, this is because my hosting bill is quite expensive. I use it to keep my hosting bills payed and Safe Text a free service for everyone. Visit the project website
